Hello! I wanted to kick off the blog with a little bit behind why I started the brand.
Since leaving school in 2014 I've been working in luxury fashion. Surrounded by beautiful things. Beautiful, expensive things.
Freshly 19 and overwhelmed, I would spend all of my money trying to keep up as the clothes rolled into the store each week and I couldn't decide if I needed another dress or another pair of heels. Eventually, something had to give. My bank account, obviously.
As my mentality slowly developed about investing in higher quality pieces and buying less, my black and white wardrobe became more and more obvious. And to this day, these are my 'colours' of choice. However, I felt like something was missing. I loved my clothes but needed an edge, a way to introduce colour without having to buy more and more to keep up with seasonal trends.
When it finally hit me. Statement earrings.
Of course, there is so much already out there in the way of statement jewellery but I was looking for something fun. Something a little loud to contrast a simpler outfit that would work with jeans and a t-shirt but also your favourite little black dress for a night out. That's why I created Dos Chicas Locas.
Whether you're a maximalist or a minimalist with maximalist tendencies like me, a statement earring can elevate any outfit. And they are now and forever, my accessory of choice.
925 Collection
The 925 Collection is a curated mix of jewellery made from 925 sterling silver and embellished with cubic zirconia. I love these smaller, daintier pieces for day-to-day wear and for those who don't like wearing a bigger earring. It's so much fun to mix and match, create earring stacks and layer different colours and styles. It's definitely the perfect alternative to wearing bigger and heavier jewellery without losing the effect.
